Our approach

How we work.

Intuitive Therapy Solutions is a virtual pediatric occupational therapy and parent-coaching practice specializing in feeding, sensory processing, and nervous system regulation. We work with families across Canada to build safety in the body first — because true progress in feeding and participation comes from regulation, not compliance.

Our work is rooted in The Regulated Table™ Framework — a nervous-system-informed clinical approach that identifies the root driver of a child's feeding difficulty before determining how to help. Every assessment and care plan begins here.

Our approach is grounded in connection, trust, and parent coaching, equipping caregivers with practical strategies rooted in nervous system support and real everyday life.

What drives us

Mission

To support families in building safety in the body as the foundation for feeding, regulation, and everyday participation — through nervous-system-informed, connection-centred occupational therapy so children can experience greater ease, nourishment, and trust around food.

Vision

A world where families feel confident supporting their children's feeding and regulation without pressure, fear, or power struggles — and where providers share a common language for why children struggle with food, not just what to do about it.

Philosophy

Nourishing feeding is the result of felt safety in the body, not pressure or compliance. Strategies only work when a child feels regulated and connected, and when caregivers are empowered as partners in the process. We emphasize parent coaching, sensory regulation, and co-regulation as the foundation of lasting change.

Our clinical foundation
Intuitive Therapy Solutions

The Regulated Table™ Framework

All services at Intuitive Therapy Solutions are delivered through The Regulated Table™ Framework — a proprietary nervous-system-informed approach to pediatric feeding therapy developed by Stephanie Forseth, OT. The framework treats safety and regulation as the prerequisite for food acceptance, not the reward for it. Rather than organizing care around diagnostic labels, it identifies the primary driver of a child's feeding difficulty first — because the driver determines the clinical entry point.

The five-level model builds from the ground up — Safety is always the foundation:

Food Acceptance Tasting · Eating · Expanded variety
Skill Building Food chaining · Flexibility · Trying small changes
Exploration Looking · Smelling · Touching · Playing with food
Regulation Body calm enough to learn · Flexible and present
Safety Predictable meals · Low pressure · Relational trust · Choice

Eating is a state-dependent skill. Children move between stages depending on nervous system state.

Why this matters

The field is arriving at what this practice was built on.

Many children with feeding challenges respond intensely to sensory and emotional demands. Underneath feeding struggles are often patterns of nervous system overwhelm, sensory sensitivity, or regulatory shutdown — not defiance, pickiness, or a parenting problem.

The field is now formally recognizing what this practice has been built on: that how we treat matters as much as what we treat. Coercive, compliance-based feeding models cause harm. A nervous-system-informed, safety-first approach is not an alternative — it is the ethical standard.

Our approach supports both the child's internal regulation and caregivers' confidence, so change happens in real life — at the table, in the kitchen, in the daily rhythms of family life.
